Limit the use of portable electric heaters, they use the same electricity as fixed electric heaters and they may overload the circuits you plug them into and damage the receptacles from heat if you have any weak wire connections.
If you have an area of your house that are cold and you want added heat in, a great option is to consider having a fan type wall heater or baseboard heater installed. It’s a safe way to heat those areas that your regular heating system just will not keep warm enough or where you only want to heat one area at a time.
